| The Saturday Express is Marlborough's community tabloid, delivered free to virtually every household in the Marlborough area. The Marlborough Province is famous for its wine and seafood, giving it the well deserved title of "The Gourmet Province". With a population of 46,167 people, there are 17,841 households in the Marlborough and Kaikoura regions*. The region is diverse, with our wine industry being our fourth earner in the province. Pastoral farming, forestry and marine farming are still our biggest industries. Our beautiful Marlborough Sounds along with the wine industry provide a strong attraction to tourists from all over the world. Based in Blenheim, The Marlborough Express first published The Saturday Express in 1985. The Saturday Express is a free community tabloid delivered to virtually every household throughout the province - Kaikoura in the south, through to Blenheim, Picton, the Marlborough Sounds and west over to Rai Valley. The paper is full with local news and features from around the province, and real estate advertising. *(2006 Census) |
